Surf Report for Thanksgiving, 2007

Today the surf is about knee high and marginally rideable on a long board. However, the surf should build thorughout the day as the approaching cold front moves closer to Galveston. Currently the water temperature is 70 degrees, the air temperature is 74 degrees, and the wind is out of the South at about 10 mph. Surf is running knee + with good longboardable waves. Form is fair to good depending on rain showers and winds. Water is brown.While we are testing the camera, the picture is of Galveston Harbor. Right now the flounder are running with excellent catches being made.
If you don't mind getting wet, go for it.

The surf is totally flat and unrideable. However, it looks like it will be a nice day on the island. The current air temperature is about 64 degrees, and the wind is out of the South East at about 6 or 7 miles per hour.November 15
The norther that came in last night has hit the beach. Choppy waves are knee high and pushing sideshore. The water color is brown. If the wind clocks more to the east, the size of the waves should increase.November 14

At 1:00 today the tide has come in some and the waves are still knee high with improved form. The water clarity has improved with green water moving in. Really a pretty day at the beach. Several longboarders at the Flagship having fun.November 13

Today 11/9/07, the surf is running knee high with light southeast winds. The surf is slightly choppy and the water clearity is good.Rideable on a longboard.
Over the weekend, the forecast calls for the southeast winds to continue and possibly increase which could result in increased wave size.
